If I remember correctly, all ants and bees are female, but all of them but the queen are sterile, and then there's a few breeding males; there's a species of mite where the female gives birth to around 9 girls and one boy but keeps them all within herself so that the boy impregnates them all, then it dies, resulting in the effective male:female ratio to be 0:9 on every birth, and overall a species where every visible, living independent mite is female.
Certain lizards have this thing going on where females can give birth to clones of themselves when few males are around, amd can keep at it for a few generations. It's why salazzle exists to begin with.
The notion that sexual creatures must be 50-50 and all imbalances will necessarily come back to the 50-50 sooner or later is only true for the common animals that we see around us: humans, dogs, elephants, etc.
The fact that pokemon has different gender ratios other than 50-50 to begin with is a wonderful thing that adds variety. That it is handled awfully, like most things gamefreak does, is a different problem. Starters should be 50-50, not the awful 87-12, for example.
