Bait, I'll bite. Game freak doesn't own the monster catching training concept. Game freak only owns Pokemon not other mon games. Monster catching is a genre of games.

It's a knockoff, sure, but unless they literally put pikachu into the game they don't have much of a case. It's the same reason why Gamefreak hasn't sued the Digimon videogames, for example.

It's an extremely blatant knockoff, down to the encounter poses, art direction, music, atmosphere, ect. But I think from a copyright perspective the game is safe. Gamefreak does not have a copyright on the concepts of pokemon, only the names creatures and characters.

Doesn't matter if it copies the overall concept, unless they use Pokemon terms game freak ain't got nothing. Collecting monster ,training them, battling other people with them and collecting prizes is not something game freak can copyright.

plagiarism isn't a legal crime, only a professional faux pas. Copyright infringement is what gets you in legal trouble and I saw nothing in this trailer that could be construed as that. Games have always shamelessly copied the most successful franchise in the genre.
