I also think a lot of people will save it till Gen 8.
People still play GO but it's not as popular as it first was, I don't know what Gamefreak are thinking, they're not going to recapture that hype, no matter how hard they try and the fact that it's only Gen 1 Pokemon will put off players who's favorites aren't in Gen 1.
