It just dawn on me. There were no Dark types in Gen 1. So, now Psychic types will be OP in the PLG game. . . again. GF, fucking up already.

Yeah, just get an Alakazam and you can run this game with ease. Just click Psychic and it's GG. I don't believe Team Rocket will have A-Muk on their team during the main campaign.

Houndour, while introduced in Gen-2, isn't actually available in Johto, and cant be caught until the G/S post game in Kanto. IT's effectively a Kanto pokemon. Umbreon evolves from Eevee, a Kanto pokemon. Also ,they could just say a few other Dark pokemon migrated to Kanto. Or make up new "undiscovered" new Kanto Dark pokemon that weren't available before because the caves/forest they live in weren't discovered yet.

Again, I'm just pointing out just get an Alakazam and you can beat this game with ease because the only thing stopping you are the Alolan forms but I'm not sure if they'll introduced at the beginning of the game. This is GF we're talking about. They could be patch in 2 months into the game.

Wrong, you're thinking that PoGo has Special but they dumbed down the mechanics even harder. PoGo only has three stats: Attack, Defense, and Stamina.
Pic related is the actual meta in gen 1 Go. It is extremely arbitrary compared to the core series and obviously has bias to eeveefags and other mons Niantic biased as more powerful than others. Too bad you can't evolve your starter Eevee, otherwise you would easily have the most OP pokemon in the whole game, Vaporeon.

Except Bug and Ghost both exist. And if Alolan Pokemon will indeed be in the game (I assume Alolan forms) then we have Alolan Marowak, Raticate, Muk, and Persian to help us out. Also there are other Pokemon that get Ghost, Bug, and Dark moves. We'll be perfectly fine against both Sabrina, the few Psychic types Lorelei has, and Mewtwo.

Wait a minute, where/who told you that the PLG will have the gym battling system of PoGo? Did you not see the trailer of the standard battle? They're not changing the battling mechanics. They only used PoGo catching mechanics and the ability in the overworld to see Pokemon.

Jesus, you fuckers missed OPs whole point. For a casual play-through just find an Abra and evolve it into Alakazam. Next, literally press Psychic and you can beat the main campaign with little to no issues because there's no mon that can stop Alakazam.

Hell, just get Machamp along with Alakazam and you're good to go.

I just realized that the restricted Pokédex is going to apply to Smogon as well, basically eternal pre bank OU. I really wonder how it is going to play out, assuming everything from GO and all crossgen evos(which knowing Game Freak isn't gonna be exactly obvious) are avaiable in postgame it shouldn't be too bad because that's still everything up until gen III, possibly IV, plus Sylveon and Alola forms, so a bigger selection of Steel types and in general not such a pisspoor roster, but it would still miss half the pokedex and important moves from past gens, and if Mega Evolutions and Z moves are going to be retained is also anyone's guess.

No online multiplayer is apparently a translation error(it would be an enormous regression even for GF if it was true) but even then Smogon can be played on cart in local 6v6 battles with a gentleman agreement to respect the ruleset. It doesn't need online for its concept to function.

They'll do it via Poekmon Go. They've already released A-Exeguttor. However, they said they'll release SOME Alolan Pokemon on PLG but not all. So, we don't know which ones they'll allow people to have in-game. If they don't release a Dark-type mon then it's GG.
