Game freak has made an extremely bold decision that I believe will unironcally save the series.
A lot of people complain about Pokémon games being to hand holdy and childproof, and I think GF has finally listened.
Pretty much GF is splitting the core games into 2 categories, which I will call, Casual and Serious.
The casual games are primarily directed at children and nostalgiafags, as seen with Pokémon let’s GO. These games are gonna be childproofed to the max and will be extremely casualized for the Normie masses.
The serious games are gonna be a lot more like what we’ve seen from past gens except that they will have less handholding and childproofing. These games will focus on the more mature playerbase who prefers to play a more no nonsense RPG.
With the way Let’s go is being developed I can say without a doubt that Masuda is directing it since he has stated his favourite spin off is GO. The veteran team has been working on the serious game since before the switch was announced (confirmed) so expect it to be big.
