Is LGPE considered Gen 7 or 8?

It's incompatible with any Gen 7 games as far as we know. And Pokemon GO is a Generation 6 game, so is LGPE Gen 6?

But it was Gen3, this is just Gen 1 with one pokemon from Gen 8, we aren't putting it in Gen 1 it's easy to put it in Gen 8 that will make sense the most when we get the Gen 8 games

Do you feel like it fits more with the 3DS games of SM & USUM or with the upcoming Gen 8 games? Second answer is the least forced. In a while Go will have every pokemon but we have to put it somewhere, that will be much harder to place.

If these games are successful and we get various sequels to them: They will be considered their own separate series. If not :Then they are just add-ons to their current generation. In this case, Gen 7.

It doesn't matter what they call it, you know what I meant. It will be incompatible with all mainline games because it is hardcoded to only have 152 Pokemon, it's a new subseries, and gen 8 hasn't started, so it's part of gen 7. It has Alola forms, so it can't be gen 1 or any other gen like some smartasses are saying

It's Gen 7.5 on a new console. It is exactly the same as Ultra Sun/Moon adding 5 new pokemon that don't exist in the original games but it is a Gen 7 remake.
