Okay, so since that special Pokémon is confirmed brand new, what do you think it is? A completely new Pokemon, unrelated to any other? A legendary/mythical? A Gen 8 Pokemon? Raichu or Eevee evolution? A beta Pokemon? And do you think there might be more than one new Pokemon?

Will probably be a gen VIII mythical. A pikachu or eevee evolution would be stupid as as it's confirmed you can't evolve the partner pokemon you get in the beginning.

They are just toying with us. The starte will be unable to evolve into Vaporeon, Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Glaceon, Leafeon or Sylveon (for Eevee) or Raichu or alolan Raichu (for Pikachu), but they will evolve into the new pokemon

Why not pander all the way to Gofags and make this Pokemon related to a gen I Pokemon? My money is on a new Eeveelution. That Eevee from the upcoming movie is going to evolve into it.

In yellow you could transfer another pikachu from red/blue/green and evolve it in a raichu, here you can transfer an eevee/pikachu from go and evolve it

Why would Gamefreak try and market a Pokemon you have to bend the rules of the game to get? That's terrible logic.
The new Pokemon isn't going to be an Eeveelution or new Pikachu evolution.

I'm more interested in it's Pokédex entry. Since there's only the first 151 Pokémon, I highly doubt they would make 151 and then jump all the way to 800.

So it's most likely number 0 in the Pokédex.

I didn't say that they would get a new evolution, I only said that if you wanted to evolve pikachu and eevee you could do it, just for dex completion rason (or transfer a jolteon/vaporeon/flareon/raichu directly to it)
