The designs of Generation 1 mons are fine as they are. Overall plain, simple, but solid designs. A lot of them are based off of real animals (Seel, Mankey, Rapidash etc) and play it extremely safe. Some are absolutely garbage like Jynx. But the thing is, excessive amounts of pandering to them just gets extremely boring, there is only so much you can do with them. I think alot of people who hate Gen 1 pandering are just straight-up bored of these Pokemon and want to see something new and original. It's like playing the first Star Wars movie on repeat over and over and over again until you can't stand it anymore, or putting Frozen on for your kid and having the child watch it every day and refuse to watch anything else until it drives you mad and you begin hating it. I find it difficult to find any excitement for the Let's Go games because it is akin to a Blu-Ray release of some classic movie that you have seen a shit-tonne of times. Discuss
