It's not bad, but sevii islands are shit post game, it and besides abilities and slightly better graphics, you might as well play the originals. Gen 4 and on was when movepools actually started getting competent, and the physical special split made the gameplay actually overhauled and a huge step forward

yes, lets play the originals, where only half of the mechanics work correctly, pokemon have even shittier movesets, not to mention qol stuff like the graphics and music, as well as slight difficulty boosts here and there

I'd also add that the fucked up the music in FRLG. The Sevii Islands are fine, though. HGSS remixes are in a better soundfont and they have mostly faithful GB sounds if you, for whatever reason, didn't like the new version.
