This is literally going to be my second Pokemon game ever (Pokemon Go first) and I'm so hyped

I know all the important Pokemonsters like Pikachu, Charmander, Jigglypuff, Eevee and Charmanders final evolution (forgot the name right now)
But is there anything else I should know regarding the lore or just go into the game with no knowledge? Thanks guys <3

You can go into any Pokemon game blind, you don't need to read up on lore. But if you're still worried, the new games were created for Pokemon Go fans like you, so they're going to keep this relatively simple. Have fun!

This post looks especially like bait, but I'm going to take it anyway because I have nothing better to do. You don't need to read about anything, especially as this upcoming game is a remake of one of the very first games.

My tip: Don't sleep on non-offensive attacks. Things like leer don't seem to do much but can actually be a great help.

If you want my opinion, I think you should play the DS games, especially HearthGold or SoulSilver. They aren't too hard, there is many of wellknown pokemons and there is a good version of Kanto's lore.

Also, it feels good to see people who actually like pokemon here.

Pokemon has some of the weakest worldbuilding in any video game. Game Freak are incapable of creating a continuous or interesting world.

if this isn't bait i suggest playing one mainline pokemon game first. I especially recommend leaf green/fire red since gen 3 was easy to emulate and they're still kanto games so it will keep you comfortable with the pokeon you already know and are familiar with while still showing what you can expect in terms of basic battle mechanics.
