I’m okay with these new elements added in LGPE. As long as they fucking stay there. Splitting the franchise isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Players like my nephew for example can play LGPE and not feel too challenged, while having elements familiar to them from playing GO. Me on the other hand, I can play the 2019 title hopefully without the LGPE-type children’s game elements. If they’re going to stop trying to make 2 different games one, and instead just split it into hard-mode and easy-mode, I’m totally okay with that.
The fact that this 2019 game most likely won’t have the following should make /vp/ happy.
>handholding
>hour long tutorials
>babby’s first gym battle
>babby’s first trainer fight
>pathetically underleveled Pokémon
And it most likely WILL have:
>a more competitive core game, requiring strategy in-game
>B2W2 style giant immersive gyms.
>random encounters
>probably a new type, something to shake up the competitive game. Hoping for light type, or maybe a magic type to replace some of the less “psychic” psychic types
