It looks better. It'll sound better, too. It'll also play on hardware people today have, and it won't plague you with the bad decisions of early gen pokemon games.

Overall it'll likely still be worse, but FRLG are dated af, and it shows.

The only thing that is dated in FRLG is the lack of special/physical split and I guess Fairy type, but there are romhacks and patches to put those in the game.

Better
- 1 brand new Pokemon
- Updated typings with Fairy and physical/special split and maybe some of the newer moves
- 3D
- Pokemon follow you and you can ride them
- You see pokemon in the wild

Worse
- Only the original 151, so over 200 less pokemon than FRLG
- No wild pokemon battles
- Probably no sevii islands
- No breeding

We'll see if they bring back the VS seeker.
