I say around 9M lifetime, definitely profitable but weaker than core Pokemon titles.

You're forgetting that there are 2 versions, and there are people out there who will buy both just to have 2 copies.
Because the core Pokemon fanbase doesn't have standards, they're going to buy it because it's HD and on Switch. This game is also aimed at normalfags who will apparently get a Switch just for this game if social media is to be trusted.

This is going to break records and every future Pokemon game will attempt to hit these numbers. We're in Kanto forever.

Jokes on you, White 2 was the last game I bought since the 3DS games sucked ass, I pirated the 3DS games.

PS: I bought all the dragon quest games because they were worth supporting.

20-30,000,000 unfortunately. Give casuals something that panders to them, and they'll buy in droves no matter how shitty it is. Gen 8 is the last mainline game boys. After that, it's all go from now on. Remember, Gamefreak thinks of Pokemon as a mobile title, and thus it'll "evolve" to match current mobile games, becoming simpler and less content heavy.

I just hope I'm completely wrong.

hey'll probably be the worst selling mainline games of all time. They're on the worst selling system for a mainline game ever. And they're a remake, no remake has ever sold more than any gen starting game, and they're a remake of a gen that's already been remade, and they're the most expensive mainline game ever. This game is going to be huge, anything can sell on Switch, this is coming out near chistmas, and is expicitly pandering to genwunner normalfags, a huge market with a bunch of expendable cash. This game is going to break records and there's nothing we can do about it.

We were in this exact same situation with USUM and that went to sell over 8M copies and still charts. Unless /vp/ can somehow convince normalfags not to drop money on this shit, it's going to beat every DS/3DS game in sales by a huge margin.
