so /vp/ now that we know this ISNT a mainline RPG game and one is coming in 2019 what does everyone think of it as a standalone spin off game?

All I wanna know now is if they also took away teaching your pokemon moves or even being able to choose if a pokemon learns an attack.

It would not surprise me if that choice is made for you and you have no control over the moves each pokemon learns.

Honestly, knowing it's just a tie-in game to encourage more people to get into Pokemon before the next big thing drops makes its flaws more forgivable in my eyes. There are people screaming about how because it doesn't have in-depth hyped-up battle system and Skyrim graphics makes it the death of Pokemon or whatever, and it's as irritating as it is stupid. It's a simple, modernized reimagining of Yellow, which is totally fine.

Plus you can dress Eevee up in snazzy outfits, which is the greatest feature ever introduced.

~pokemon are mountable? unless you still have to rent them (if so, sucks but still better than HMs)
~co-op, though not what I wanted it's a step in the right direction
-catching without weakening and double pokeball throws feel inorganic
-chibi models
-1:1 remake instead of reimagining
-Pikachu and Eevee are clearly forced onto you
-Still keeping the same boring battle system

Not even sure if I'll pirate it.

Pokemon XY/ORAS + Pokemon Go + Virtual Console = SM being the best sold set of games outside of Maybe Red/Green/Red/Blue
Pokemon LGPE + Pokemon SM/USM = more sales for 8th gen.
