And again , objectively gen 1 designs are better , not because the designs itself (a fuck pokeball with eyes) but because of the amount of detail used onto most of the mons , look at pidgey for example , a low level pokemon that you won't see for the rest of the game after early routes, yet its design is well done , compare it to pidove for example , you will notice how the design went from being actually detailed to simple shapes and cartoony designs.
I'm not saying GEN 5 is absolute dogshit , but the mons on it were , even if they had good gameplay features gen 5 games failed in the most important part of every pokemon game , the pokemons.
