I just name them after my irl pets. For example, I have a small black cat named Bast or.. had, she unexpectedly passed away two weeks ago, she was only 2 years old and in the span of 5 days her liver and bladder suddenly collapsed, vets couldn't even give us a reason, god, I miss her so much, she was my best friend.. and I named my Litten after her (never evolved her to Incineroar, I wanted her to remain a cat), then Bast's dad is a grey cat called Damon, so I named my Alolan Meowth after him (I did evolve this one because Damon is fluffy and heavy), and so on, so on.
