Charizard shilling is far, far worse than Lucario shilling.
At least Lucario shilling doesn't come with starter favoritism and gen 1 pandering.

Lucario shilling is definitely worse. At least Charizard gained its popularity fairly organically, whereas Lucario got its own movie and spin-off cameos before Gen 4 had even released (not to metion how its been handled since).

They fucked up with Zoroark by making it needlessly difficult to obtain in BW, not to mention rendering its own gimmick (the only thing stopping it from being mediocre) useless in the same generation it was introduced. Meanwhile you get given a Riolu for free in DPPt by a furfag in a cave and it's also really good in battle, no gimmick required.

Lucario appeals to little kids that like Dragon Ball and stuff like that, wich is a huge demographic. It's It's why they keep bringing him back and only did it from the begining because they predicted it.
Zoroark is niche all around.
