>>35755749Time to come clean.
In the original thread, the story concerning a Japanese collector whose collection went to a gaming shop in Hokkaido who then let American dumpers borrow the game, that was ALL total bullshit I made up.
I just wanted to see how easy it would or wouldn't be to make a credible sounding story to add to the lore of what I thought at the time was just some kind of hoax involving some faked screenshots, I didn't think there would even be a second thread, let alone that an actual demo would be leaked.
I was amused when I noticed my post about the Hokkaido game shop and the deceased collector story being featured in screencaps chronicling this unfolding story, especially since I did nothing to perpetuate that story beyond the actual post itself.
Now that this not only turned out to be real, but may or may not have actual somewhat serious drama concerning the circumstances of the leaks, I just want to come clean and make it clear that any story you heard regarding a deceased collector in Japan is fake.
If the original source of the cartridge or rom DOES turn out to be some dead guy's collection, it's purely coincidental, as I made up the story from the circulating post out of thin air, just thinking I was adding to the fun of a harmless hoax that didn't potentially have actual people's reputations on the line in regard to it.
I also post this to say, in regards to anything you saw being said in this thread about alleged activities behind the scenes regarding the leaks, it was just as easy for me to make up fake shit as it could be for anyone else, I guess eventually the truth will come out, but in the mean time, the only thing we know for sure to be real is the game files themsleves.
