The Running Model found in S/M/USUM is the exact animation for Following Pokémon in LGPE

Masuda has said that, in general, only the first 151 Pokemon are directly available to catch in the game with some other Pokemon sprinkled in

He also said he couldn’t comment on how LGPE connects with past/future games and with Bank. Meaning, it isnt a flat out no, they’re clearly planning something.

All Pokemon have these animations, my theory is that at some point we will be able to bring Pokemon past the original 151 over. Mew is a mythical, it won’t be catchable, and there will very likely be some kind of event for it.


For functionalitys sake I don’t see them changing the battle mechanics or stats. CP is only a guage of strength based of EVS and IVS, meaning that any transported mon can have these stats evaluated and just be given a CP stat. It doesnt change the Pokemon itself. We still don’t know what kind of secrets the game has, and there could be breeding/training locations that are post game. Masuda said the trading and battline havent changed and that the game will have depth for those who look for it. Its entirely possible we get a Fire Red Leaf Green post game evolution/breeding situation
