i loved them so much once i realised what they were, great concept. the 'skin' doesn't seem to come from any recognisable pokemon, but the only ice type in finished gs has tusks and shaggy fur.

I was thinking this too when trying to figure out why they cut him. When someone was making fanart of this guy, they made the skin look a bit like the skin of a pikachu. I am wondering if they cut him because they didn't want to give the impression that pikachus are being slaughtered and skinned by this guy

Just think if this was a real Pokemon we'd of have decades of discussion about when we'd see the Pokemon who's pelt it's wearing.

I think this was actually the case. Type fits, the general concept too (wearing a skin to shield from the cold). The black body, arms, legs and eyes match, too.. It's definitely more plausible than Snover, Swinub or Mimikyu.

Why would people say he's beta Mimikyu? Mimikyu's entire concept is being a Pikachu mimic, Wolfman is simply wearing a fake pelt like a coat. The "face" is probably just a bunch of markings there to give it the impression it's a scary predator to ward off would be hunters. These aren't Pikachu ears, they're fox ears.

I'm fully aware it isn't pikachu. It looks similar enough to pikachu, however, that GF may have felt uncomfortable with this, given how vital pikachu has been to the marketing of the franchise.

Beta mimikyu because it’s a Pokemon wearing a Disguise to look. Like an other Pokémon and mimikyus whole gimmic is just that. Of course this one doesn’t look like a pikachu but the concept was used. And it’s possible that some elements made snorunt like the beta latios which was made into two pokemon. It could very wrk be gorochu it has fangs and similar ears haha

This brings up an even better point. It's stated all over that Cubone wears the skull of its mother, and yet we breed and watch them come out of eggs while the mother survives. Plus, Marowak's skull looks completely different. Point is, it's all bullshit, none of it makes sense, so there's actually nothing morbid about it. It's just a design.
