This boy right here would be a fan favorite, unlike Snorunt, the design is much more simple and the evolution makes sense, it would probably be in the same boat as Ledian, a design people adore but can't use because it'll have shitty stats.

Between Wolfman and Snorunt, Wolfman is a much more globally appealing design due to it not being based off of a Japanese legend. It;s also a "it gets bigger" evolution, but in the same vein of Sandshrew/Sandslash rather than Quilava/Typhlosion.

Do you honestly believe the transition from Snorunt to Glalie makes any sense? Glalie isn't bad or anything but a small eskimo monster turn into a floating ice mask, losing it's hands, feet, and "clothes" is an extremely jarring change and not in a good way.

Maybe. I always thought Gen 2 had the largest collection of bland and forgettable pokemon imaginable. For the most part, I think the Beta version really nails what I'd have preferred from the actual GS pokemon.

Both Snorunt and Glalie are yokai. Both share the blue eyes and the black body and it's implied that Snorunt lost its hood and coated itself in ice while developing its jaws, Glalie's defining feature. Subtlety doesn't seem to be your strong point, hence why so many people are crying about Remoraid/Octillery's beta designs being better.

If a design is so "subtle" that most people dont gets it in a video game series that sells millions of units, targets mainly kids and people who started playing as kids, and where one of its main appeals are its designs then it probably isn't a well designed creature if no ones getting it since its not doing its job well enough as a readable and defined design. You're not smarter or anything for getting a design that not many people understood and acting superior about it's not going to convince people its a good design surprisingly.

why is everyone ignoring the existence of froslass
not a fan of glalie but at least cute yokai with weeb clothes to cute yokai with different weeb clothes makes sense
and its certainly more interesting than fursuit to 'just gets bigger' fursuit

Because Froslass was basically a retcon, though it is more inline with Snorunt, as both are based of Yokai.

Wolfman and Snorunt share similar design elements which is where the comparison starts. Wolfman's evolution makes more sense than Snorunt to Galie, Froslass is exempt because it was added a generation later. Wolfman is the stronger design overall, but Snorunt is still good.

to the same degree no one knows that magikarp the stupid goldfish looking pokemon which evolves into a monstrous serpentine dragon is all based on chinese folklore surrounding karp that swim upstream and jump over some gate to transform into dragon. doesn't stop people appreciating their designs.
