Sure, it's normal for stuff to fly over kids heads, but promoting ignorance will just make them dumber and inexperienced with future challenges. If they can learn something new, you should provide a way for them to do so. This is one of the reasons certain "kids shows" were/are acclaimed, because while being lighthearted, they don't shy away from talking about "heavy stuff".
I'll give you an example: My little sister is always fearful of trying something new when it comes to videogames and such. The uncertainty of what could happen and how she could fuck up are too much for her. However, if you make them grow with trial and error, this shouldn't happen.
Of course, a game shouldn't be the one in charge of teaching kids how to behave, that's the parents work, but they certainly help to create certain patterns. If anything, trial, error and success its a good thing to teach.
