>>35760678Para - The whole motif of this family is that it gains more letters in its name with each evolution. Paras becomes Parasect. So the pre-evolution should be a shorter version of Paras. Para fits.
Yucky - Is a childish word to refer to disgusting things. Considering Grimer and Muk are named after disgusting stuff (grime and muck), it makes sense for yuck to have its own.
Tangly - It's the adjective of tangle, and has baby-like connotations. Tangela + baby.
Tangarden - Tangrowth is taken so the next closest thing would be Tangarden.
Dittol - Ditto + Metal.
Vultrix - vulpes + tri (three) + tricks.
Potiny - pony + tiny
Qwilffer - quill + pu(ffer)
Curlitung - curly + lickitung
Farfrenc'h: Farfetch'd + french (Japanese name is madame, french theme)
Pinsamurai - Pinsir + samurai (warrior motif)
Suppup - Growlithe is growl + lithe (agile). So supple + pup.
Meowin - Meowth's original name is Nyarth (nya + rth). Its pre-evolution was Konya (kon [coin] + nya). So to keep the theme, Meowin is meow + co(in). But it can also mean meowing. Kittens meow for their mothers.
Wackeebel- wacky + bell. Victreebel was victory + bell. This is a funky Pokemon that is capable of walking on its sprout legs.
Dodjoin - Dodo + adjoin (be next to or to be attached). It is a reference to how this Pokemon are three heads that are stuck or attached to one body. The d- in adjoin is also a theme for Doduo's evolutionary line in which the second word starts with a d. (Duo, Drio [trio]).
