Ok anons, I have some doubts.

We have now the 1997 GS beta cartrige, and even read we're going to bet the 1996 GS beta cartrige (there were two betas?)

My questions:
-Are Red/Green/Blue beta cartriges which could be obtained?
-Are Ruby/Sapphire beta cartriges which could be obtained?

Some anon mentioned in another thread that there are roms for a german RS beta, but I don't think it has an amazing unseen content or anything.

That one's a debug beta that's almost identical to the final version. The only difference is the debug menu still works.

As for >>35763042 , they certainly exist, but whoever has them is either hording them because of collector's mentality, or they're locked in a warehouse or some shit. We might see them some day, we might not.

The first one that had a playable demo and was shown to the public at least. Maybe RG had one that we don't know of but it would be even less likely to be leaked since it probably never left Gamefreak/Nintendo.

I'm fairly certain that every Pokemon that made it as far as being programmed is in the final release.

Idk the missingno slots in the pokemon index numbers make me think otherwise. I don't see any other reason why there would be gaps.

GF stated they originally programmed 190 Pokemon in the game, so there's actually quite a bit of interest for that version of the game. It's just unknown if that game is out in the wild anywhere.

It's pretty much why MIssingno in the game. Missingno are Pokemon data they didn't fully remove (for some reason). They probably didn't think it was necessary because the data would be inaccessible or something. Boy were they wrong.

Since James Turner answers people on twitter can people barrage him with questions about whether gamefreak would be open to show the full document with the 190 pokemon or even encourage him to suggest it to them?

Considering what they did for the recent manga it doesn't seem 100% off limits. As much as Im enjoying this gen 2 reveal nothing interests me more than red and green's development

Not every prototype is a beta. Beta is just the term that’s half hazardously used on the internet to refer to prototypes. A beta is a type of prototype but a prototype doesn’t automatically infer beta.

RGBY protos would not contain much cut content. GS proto is a unique situation where you're seeing a game that was well on it's way to completion, but was delayed for two years due to several circumstances, during which time it was heavily reworked and refined. You will never see a prototype this near completion this different ever again. The only games I can think of with similar development histories are Kirby 64 and Conker's Bad Fur Day (A 95-100% complete version of Conker's Twelve Tales certainly exists somewhere, we just haven't been lucky enough to acquire it yet.)

It's similar to GS in that it was like 70% done, then got delayed and they basically took it apart and rebuilt it into the OOT we have today.

It's possible there is a prototype of that out there that would be just as different as this one is.
