getting hard countered by a broad number of steel/poisons like mega bee, ferro and scizor is way worse than only things like conk and heracross being able to safely switch in while also immediately threatening it
and the resistances mostly dont matter because its a fat fuggin egg that has always switched in on neutral hits regardless
for blissey it depends on whether or not it also gets moonblast
it if does, it has a decent chance to replace chansey in most teams
a reliable stab option that does decent damage and has a 60% chance to drop spa makes it consistently not a speed bump anymore, which seems mostly more important than the physical bulk, outside of stall at least
