This creature is generally depicted as a white-and-black cowlike creature with a single horn and many eyes, frequently with a third eye on its forehead. (Absol has the black dot.) However, it's also sometimes depicted as a mountain lion of sorts. I don't really think Absol is either truly feline or canine, though. It's just a mammalian "beast" of un-pinpointable classification.
I've pondered the meaning of the Yin Yang motif in Absol's design for quite some time. I'm still not 100% clear on what it's supposed to mean, symbolically. Absol's all about dualities, I guess....
