>>35783789Because Let's Go turned out to be shit compared to what we anticipated.
We wanted a polished new story in Kanto that respects the old games and adds new stuff. What we got is a watered-down rehash of FRLG with everything dumbed down for kiddies and normies.
GS beta, on the other hand, gives a whole new insight into the development process of Gen II and adds a bunch of previously-unknown mons that will now live a new life in fanart and romhacking. It also has a "holy grail" quality to it as many of us long dreamed to see it, a long-lost material that we thought would never get satisfactorily documented.
So yeah, GS beta is really bigger news than Let's Go. But of course, this beta craze will probably fade in a few days, as pretty much everything has already been datamined and this "release" has no implication on Pokemon's future (aside from some fanwork), and we'll be back to our usual activities, waiting for more LGPE news.
But at least for now, LGPE looks totally not worth the hype.
