Raqiya (firmament, and bonus points because it's a Hebrew word, and most of Hoenn's Legendaries are based on Hebrew legends) + ray + quasar + Bulbapedia seems convinced it's derived from 烈空座 ("ferocious sky/heaven seat/throne" or something) if you want to accept that; I think it's kind of incredible that it's two relevant English words combined... to sound like three Japanese words combined... to sound like still another relevant word in Hebrew

Necros + kuro + Z (Z-Crystal/Ring) + prism + OZMA
I can't wait to see the layers in next Gen's third version mascot's name. Hope it has this level of depth!
>>35786842I'm sure you already know this, but as an extension of Hydreigon, that entire line actually has German number naming scheme: Deino and Zweilous are from ein and zwei (one and two) in addition to dino and zealous. I love that they all worked that in!
