Weezing and Arbok were released in Hoenn though.

And there's very little chance of LGPE having any effect on the anime. SM isn't even at the 80 episode mark yet, and they've still got Poni Island, the remaining Ultra Beasts and other Pokemon, Necrozma, and the Alola League left.

Poni Island can be 3-5 episodes like Ula'Ula. They already covered the fucking alter, and other islands had locations that weren't brought up, so we're only getting the trial and Pokemon. With the Dragon Trial already done by Gladion, Ash is likely going to do the Fairy trial. That's a good way to introduce Mina and Hapu at the same time.

Gladion didn't do the Dragon Trial. Kommo-o was just an obstacle in his way, and he didn't get a Dragonium Z. Ash will be the one to get a proper battle against Kommo-o.

And Ash definitely isn't doing the Fairy trial. If anyone does that trial, it will be Lillie.

The SM anime already had a Kanto revisit, so they're just gonna stay in Alola until Gen 8 comes out in late 2019.
