USUM were the most disappointing Pokemon games I've seen (before Let's Go was announced). It's kind of weird that Gamefreak went back to just barebones third versions with a few things tacked on when they've already done sequels.

I wouldn't even be so mad if they actually FIXED the issues and complaints that SM had. They just made them worse though, and failed to improve on SM's biggest problem like platinum fixed issues with DP, or Emerald fixed RS's issues. Yet people still use platinum as a shield to deflect all criticism of USUM
