>>35789110I read once from another anon that the reason they made hold back was because false swipe is a sword-based move, so not many things could get it, while hold back is generic enough to be given to anything. Why they kept it an event move is a mystery to me tho. Maybe they think you'll use your event mon to catch wild mons and use hold back to put them down to 1 HP?
>>35789121Synchronoise just has a really bad mechanic, exactly like belch. You have this seemingly powerful move (still nothing to write home about, considering their type), put behind this extremely strict condition that you must work around to unlock.
Synchronoise's concept as it is could only be decent if it was a ghost or dragon move, as those are the only types strong against themselves. Considering LITERALLY HALF THE TYPES RESIST THEMSELVES, making it a psychic move is as retarded as it gets, because not only will it be resisted, psychic types usually have high special defense.
Synchronoise should have 60 base power and only become 120 if the opponent shares the user's type (or 240 if they share both types of a dual typing). That way a pure typed psychic running it gets rewarded by essentially having tinted lens built into a STAB move, while a psychic/something type suddenly has its STAB being super effective on a foe of the same psychic/something type, catching them off guard. Extremely situational, but miles better than what we have.
