Mine's Gengar. For most people(myself included) I'm sure we would think of it's rival as Alakazam, though if you think of the original 4 trade evos the more logical pairing would be with Golem being that
Alakazam vs Machamp could be seen as Intelligence/Mind/Brain vs Strength/Body/Brawn
and Golem vs Gengar could be seen as Material/Physical/Solid vs Incorporeal/Metaphysical/Gaseous
Other options would be:
- Nidorino because of the iconic intro
- Clefable because of the doppelganger theory
- Chandelure for being neck and neck as the most popular ghost
- Haunter because as with dragonair a lot of people prefer the look of the second stage and as such hate the final form
