True. I mean going by narrative it was what she destined for. Imagine living for that event only being rejected by fug, who chooses other trainer. If she destined to save the world, it isn't illogical to kill a few people. Also no point building lores;mythical;tribes etc etc while they nullify it at last point minute.

It's not just the idea of alternate universes, it's the way they went about it. Having one set of games set in one Universe where the Ultimate Weapon was never built, and a set where it was, causing Mega Evolutions to exist is brilliant from a lore perspective. Now both sets are still canon to the timeline this way
