I don't read comics but I guess a similar thing to consider is the people who buy Marvel comics over normalfags who just go see all the capeshit movies that come out, it would be interesting to see the profits and sales the comics have and the films have had in the last 10 years, and the quality of the comics before and after the films became big. There's probably a shitload of other franchises which have done the same, it would be interesting to compare a lot of these "2 fanbases" and see where that lead them too, and if one cannibalised the other.

Though bringing up the second point could be a positive, same as with normalfags who just watch capeshit who've never touched a comic and you have the "core" fans who will buy most of them, they're two different groups that Marvel try to appeal to.
