Ultra Beasts are a mistake. Its a lazy attempt to fill up Pokemon spots by creating shitty designs.

Also, Z-moves were a shit addition that just made Pokemon into a shitfest. On the other hand, Megas and Alolan forms are great.

Ultrabeast/space was a great concept underdeveloped bc GF incompetence, but at least the beast we got were fucking great, Naganadel instantly won a spot on my all-time favorite team.

Megas are terrible. They could have easily been an item that you could only have one of to supercharge one of your pokemon for the rest of the battle, and they could have even made it so how much of a boost it gave was dependent on the pokemon, so a Legendary would get a small boost, and early route bug would get a huge one.

Instead, we got redesigns of old pokemon that were made solely to boost their power, a dozen different rocks clogging up inventory space, and several dozen more pokemon left in the dust because the creators didn't feel like giving them a Mega because reasons.

Agreed. Most mons that received megas were shillmons and "fan favorites"

There were a total of >700 pokemon in XY. It's highly unlikely Game Freak wanted to give evolutions to older mons (with the exception of Eevee) as the series continues getting closer to the 1000 mark.
