I'd try a romhack called Sigma Emerald. (Pic related.) It's a 386 hack that isn't as casualized as ORAS, but it ports over a ton of modern shit from Gen 6, like the Fairy type and type chart, moves and movesets, et cetera. (Also it de-capitalizes a ton of shit.)
Shit like that is great if you hate the modern games for being too casualized but can't go back to the older games because they're missing content and shit from the more modern games.
