>>35808897Depending on how you look at it, you maybe could describe Let's Go as a containmet game in that it isn't intended for the "gamers" who are into more mechanical stuff or competitive battling. But they don't want to separate their audience altogether (it's about accessbility, like Masuda said), so they'll still want Let's Go players to (eventually) play the main games. And they WILL buy them, so making the 2019 game into a hardcore RPG would basically amount to throwing a whole lot of money out of the window.
The deciding factor for whether the 2019 game will suck for "hardcore" players or not will be how much of a step-up in "accessability" GF will want for the main games. I suppose it will be a slight step-up (the game will be less explainy than SM), but not a big one. Especially because they're trying this out for the first time.
