Pikachu and other pokemon fight for Ash because they want to help him to be the very best, Greninja WANTS to be the very best too so he didn't work "for" Ash but "with" Ash, they both worked together for their common goal.
This is pretty pointless anyway because what makes Greninja able to not!megaevole is its special ability Battle Bond so if it was another pokemon/it had another ability the bond would never result in Ash-Greninja, but the bond was still there as excuse
