What am I in for? Also, I just got this from GameStop and it still has the poster for battle revolution inside and the manual. How is that even possible?

You should have just emulated platinum. Even though Platinum fixes some of DP's issues, it doesn't completely fix the speed.
I'm playing Plat right now and battles feel really slow. I'm pretty much always using the speed up button unless I want to hear the music. Last pokemon game I played was White 2 in December of last year and I only sped up when grinding levels against Audinos.

I have emulated some of the GBA games in the past but I got a DS lite so I could play it on the original hardware. but not the DS phat cuz it sucks.

If you don't mind risking your save file you could try tweaking to get Darkrai, Shaymin and Cresselia

Oh yeah, I love spending 40 minutes getting from point A to point B because everything in DP is so fucking slow. I also love how a ton of cross gen evolutions aren't even fucking available. Gotta love how every team has Luxray and Staraptor because the Pokemon selection is so shitty that you have no good team building optns because at least 2 of your team slots are dedicated to HM slaves.

Meanwhile in based Unova the only HM you need is Surf and you have team bulding options out the ass, fuck, I'm gonna replay BW right now because it's actually playable unlike DP which is a fucking embarassment.
