Also, while you aren't entirely wrong, it isn't that simple. Game Freak is a business that, like any other, exists to make money. Assuming that it's even remotely successful in converting players from mobile, that presents a risk to the existing core games. Game Freak is conservative, they have long resisted growing to better match the size and position they hold in the market. They already have to start developing a generations worth of games years and years in advance to be able to release them near annually.
At less than 150 employees, bumping up their output would mean pushing back that timeline even further. Success for LGPE will likely end the core series as we know it after Gen VIII. It wouldn't make financial sense to keep making them if LGPE makes as much or more and it's not going to be truly viable unless they double their workforce, something Game Freak really hasn't done since Gen II basically buried them under the weight of their own incompetence.
And that isn't even getting into how LGPE will affect Gen VIII. Masuda has been cagey over whether it will or wont and has been quoted a handful of times this week changing his story. Sometimes he says no, sometimes he's very emphatic they will, and other times he's been non-committal about it.
Acting like it doesn't exist won't do much if Gen VIII suffers or LGPE ends up replacing the core series in the end. And you might not think that's likely, but it's a standard practice.
