>>35823512I tried playing go again last week when they announced, but then I remembered why I stopped.. it's just not my type of game. I don't hate let's go, but I pretty much dislike it because:
- the only thing I wanted for a "Kanto remake" would be a reimagined map, but all we got was a 1:1 map, and that's just unforgivable for me. they even copied grass patches, which doesn't even makes sense since wild pokemon appear wandering in the overworld
- removing wild battles took away all the fun of catching a pokémon (one of the reasons go is boring for me), and it doesn't feel rewarding at all to just throw pokeballs until the rng decides you won. imagine battling the legendaries that way...
- Riding your pokémon is everything I wanted, but with the map being that 1:1 version of RBY Kanto, it just doesn't make sense to ride a pokemon because it's all so small it doesn't exactly take too much time to walk from a city to another.. the player riding that onix/charizard in the trailer felt a little claustrophobic for me because the map was so small..
- no Johto or Sevii, and only 1st gen pokémon.. for me that's nothing but genwunner pandering, nothing wrong with only making kanto pokemon appearing in kanto, but apparently you can't even bring pokemon from later gens from Go, everything's banned.. also, no other region/pokemon implies that the post game will be unexistent.
let's go is just a big waste of opportunity combined with lazyness imo, they'd have to announce something really inovative to change my mind, but right now 2018 is just a gap year for me
