It's pretty amazing how Girafarig could've been one of the most memorable Johto Pokémon but now it's just "that Pokémon with a palindrome name besides Eevee and Ho-Oh."
It doesn't help that A) it feels too redundant with Stantler (although Stantler is the least interesting of the 2), since that could've easily been Normal/Psychic as well, and B) the final design feels too conceptually similar to Wobbuffet (big front face + smaller face on black tail) which Girafarig had no chance of ever outshining given that Wobbuffet became incredibly prominent in the anime, got a broken ability, and even got a prevo (which got special attention in the form of Mirage Island).
