I'll give you that if your relationship is fairly new and you're still getting to know each other then yeah, put it away for now, but in the future when you two become really, really close, to that point where you're supposed to accept the other, flaws and all, stuff like this shouldn't be a concern, it should be just casual tbqh. Your SO is supposed to be that one person in the whole world who you can talk freely about anything.
