It would take a lot for me to accept the idea of any fakemon, though I do not understand what it is that makes me accept actual new pokemon every time either, when sometimes it is difficult to tell the difference. All of that aside, though, I have a very strict rule for hacks or fan games: you have to have a reasonable level curve. I've only seen two things have one, and one of those has multiple regions that imply you're keeping your older pokemon, so recurring characters have really high leveled pokemon while everyone else has reasonable levels for where they are on the map.
