>>35829275The problem with lower number of new mons is that most people want to use the new pokemon but don't have much of a choice with types when there's 1-2 lines for each type, so less Pokemon means less variety, look at Gen 6, apart from Zygarde, there was only 1 Ground type and it was a secondary type to the regional rodent.
They should just make every new pokemon usable or at least usable in game, they don't have to be amazing, just good enough to hold it's ground and not be shat on, instead of wasting space on things like Pyukumuku (no hate but it's kinda pointless)
Also, Gamefreak seem to think we all love legendary Pokemon so 20 of the newer pokemon end up being legends taking up more dex space for good pokemon.
You need at least 100 Pokemon to give every type some variety and something decent to use that isn't a legendary.
