>>35833122>>35833205Dragon Quest 2 had a mini version of the Dragon Quest 1 map, and it was playing many years after DQ1. When you are on the DQ1 map in DQ2, the overworld and battle music change to that of DQ1. It was a nice of them to include that.
Also, Tajiri got the idea for link trading from playing DQ2. Sugimori had 2 incredibly rare hats while Tajiri had none. But you can only use one of the hat, so the second one was just wasted item space. It was frustrating for them that there was no way for Sugimori to give the second hat to Tajiri.
