You may think Pokémon is bad, but then again Pokémon became such an important part of your life that to this day come here and see all the things Pokémon is about. All the interesting memories, all the people coming togheter to talk about this great series, have fun, etc. It shaped many peoples life's. Just because things aren't perfect doesn't they can be great again. There is a reason Pokémon is as big as it is. It is much more than just games, movies and merchandise. Its a source of positive energy.

With how negative and degenerate this board gets, it's actually quite nice to have a positive, hopeful thread like this.

Since GF is making a game specifically for the casuals, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and have faith that with the Switch era, they can really show Pokemon's potential and that it has yet still to reach the height of the franchise.

I do actually. XY, SM, & USUM felt like quick rushes to save face and stay relevant. Gen 8 will probably be back up to standards with the DS Era.

I've been feeling Game Freak will surprise a fair few people with Gen VIII for a while now. That they've already built a (albeit straight port) game in the new environment, the power and ability of the console to not only do what they wish for the first time in their history, but also the ease of writing the game to Switch compared to previous hardware they worked with factoring in and now taking another year to work on said coming games, it seems like they're going to pull out something top drawer.

I felt this way going into Sun and Moon. 2016 mons was great, we had normies playing Pokemon Go and SM were really fun to play the first time through.

But SM's postgame and replay-ability are garbage. Then they sold us the same game again in 2017 with what most companies would have simply done as a $5 DLC.

I feel optimistic for Let's Go, I'm not a Gen 1 hater but my first game was Blue at 3 years old. Feels right for the first big PKMN Switch game to be in Kanto
