Non-shitpost answer: It was included in the biography "Satoshi Tajiri: Pokemon Creator" by Lori Mortensen and then got inserted into news articles, Wikipedia pages, etc., with no other credible source. Lori Mortensen later admitted that she didn't actually have a source for the claim and nobody ever bothered to correct it.

According to Bulbapedia, a book published by Kidshaven Press made the claim that he has Aspergers, no idea if that's the origin though.
