could this be the best possible thing to happen to the franchise? two separate series, one catering to the casual audience, and one catering to the hardcore audience, releasing one of each per year, maybe skipping a year here and there. if they keep it up and alternate them i fail to see a downside. two kinds of pokemon, no matter what you prefer. and if you like both, well, that's just more pokemon.
