Kanto was good for its time, but it doesn't nearly fulfill the same as level of exploration as other modern RPGs do. The pictures of the overworld we've seen so far, especially with Pokemon outside tall grass now, make the overworld actually look pretty sparse. I agree that the mainline has lost direction, but I don't think Let's Go is the way to solve it. I get what you mean about player interaction through Co-Op, but based on what we've seen of the game so far, it'll be too easy to even enjoy Co-Op, since the trainers don't seem to have much Pokemon and they're underleveled. I love the idea of Co-Op, but I would think it needs more double/triple battles in Co-Op mode + increased difficulty to make it more enjoyable.
